Goosebumps! It's been a week since we got acquainted with the Thugs of Hindostan. Thanks to the Motion Poster releases, that YRF has been religiously teasing us with on our social media. The release date is 8 November, and our excitement and curiosity levels are already sky-high. We've always been a sucker for historical dramas but this one here is a lot more than that. Tagged as an 'epic action-adventure' it takes from Philip Meadows Taylor's 1839 novel Confessions of a Thug. The year of publication and the title gives us a broad hint on the premise - the world of the dreaded Thugees. This ancient fraternity of murderous thieves met their match when another fraternity of organised thieves landed on our shores - the British.
And the leader of the desi pack is the ironically named Firangi, played by Aamir Khan. He's utterly charming in his top hat, Ozzy glasses, flashy coat and a bottle of Ye Old Pirate dangling off his waist as he sits astride a donkey. Oh, and the curls! That's a new look on Aamir. Firangi seems like a thug who doesn't take himself too seriously. His transformation from swag to ruthless should be interesting.
