The Christmas season starts off with Scrooge being his usual crabby, miserly self at his faithful clerk (Gary Oldman) and cheery nephew (Colin Firth), only to find himself soon at the receiving end. Scrooge's late business partner Joseph Marley, returns in spirit form one, to show how he's paying for his wrongdoings, and two, to help Scrooge change his ways before it's too late.
Soon the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future drop by to take Scrooge on a trip he never dreamt of, one that will open his eyes to the years of ill will and undo it before time runs out.
