The superstar of Tamil cinema made his first public appearance on October 29 at a felicitation ceremony for director S P Muthuraman, with whom he has worked in 25 films. At the function, Rajinikanth said: "Now that I'm fully cured, thanks to prayers and my fans' love, I thought I will make my first appearance at the SPM felicitation function.
