We spotted brothers Salman and Arbaaz Khan, Juhi Chawla, Rishi Kapoor, Jeetendra, Vivek Oberoi and many others outside his residence.

Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek also came to visit. 

"I sat by his [Bal Thackeray's] bedside for hours these past few days, a prayer in my heart, watching him struggling to breathe, but fighting," Amitabh tweeted. 

"And just a couple of hours back, as I stand next to his still, peaceful, saffron-draped body, it is difficult to imagine that he has left us!"

Today, after hearing about his death, shock has been the response from most of Bollywood, as they took to social networking sites to express their grief.
