It was very unusual of Vikram not to be in Chennai on the eve of the release of his Arul and on investigation we have found that the superstar, director Shankar heroine Sada and a group of dancers were in Amsterdam, Holland shooting two songs for Oscar films Anniyan.

Shankar wanted to be the first Indian cinema camera crew to shoot a song at the Netherlands International flower show called “Floriade”. It happens only once in 10 years in the city of Vijfhuizen, just outside Amsterdam from April 10 to October 20. The 120-acre exhibition park is designed by world famous landscape architect Niek Roozen.

The park is divided into three areas - Near the Roof, By the Hill, and On the Lake. Existing natural features such as the Genie Dike, part of Amsterdam's old defence system, and woods, have been incorporated into the plans. Man-made attractions such as an enormous glass roof and a large pyramid will add to the spectacle, especially for Indian ‘masala’ song sequences!

Shankar wanted to pip other Indian camera crew from Bollywood and Tollywood (Chiranjeevi was also planning to shoot a song for his “Shankardada MBBS” in the first week of May in the same locations).

After completing the first song here, the crew wanted to shoot the second song in the famous Keukenhof, a tulip garden. Lyrist Vairamuthu had in fact written a beautiful song that was planned to be shot there. But unfortunately the authorities refused permission as another Indian film crew had spoiled the garden a few week’s back.
