Sony Music has got the audio rights to Mani Ratnam's Kadal. They have managed to grab it from Gemini Music whose parent company Gemini Film Circuit are marketing the film .
Ashok Parwani, Head South, Sony Music said, “We are very happy to be associated with such a magnificent project and to work with Mani Sir. We go along way with A R Rahman and it is our 3rd project with him this year. We are confident music enthusiasts will appreciate the music as much as the film.”
Parwani also added that they are going to release four albums of AR Rahman in 2012 / 2013. The market buzz is that Sony Music had paid an unheard of Rs 2 Crore for the audio rights, though Sony spokesperson refused to divulge figures.
