The 26th edition of the MGR-Sivaji Academy Awards organized by V4 Entertainers was a glitzy affair at Lady Andal school auditorium in Chennai.
To celebrate the 80th year of Tamil cinema, eight veterans including K. Balachandar, Vaali, Anjali Devi, Balamuralikrishna and MSV were felicitated with `Achievement Awards`.
The `Anna Award` was given to Sathyaraj and Prabhu received the `MR Radha Award`. Directors Santhanabharathy and P.Vasu were honoured with the `MGR` and `Sivaji` awards respectively.
The showstoppers were obviously Dhanush and Anirudh, who performed the Kolaveri Di song with Lakshman Shruti`s live orchestra.
Dhanush was felicitated for his National award; Anirudh was given the `best song of the year` award. Sonia bagged the Best actress for Sathurangam. S.A. Chandrashekaran, Thenappan, Radha Ravi, A.V.M. Saravanan, Jai, Sneha, Prasanna, Cheran, Saranya, Ponvannan, Krishna, Parthiepan, Keerthana, Kovai Sarala, editor Mohan and Dhanshika were among those who graced the function.
