R Chandru of super-hit Taj Mahal fame is back with Prem Kahani. Ajay plays a coolie who falls in love with Sheela, a girl from a rich and affluent family. Their love is opposed by Sheela's family amd whether true love wins or dies in the climax forms the story of Prem Kahani that is all set for release on the Varamahalakshmi Day 31st July 2009.

KM Vishwanth and G Ravikumar of Sri Lakshmi Balaji Productions is venturing in to Kannada cinema and it was their great wish to make a film with music maestro Ilayaraja. Ilayaraja has scored eight melodious tunes for this film. Chandrasekar is the cameraman. Rangayana Raghu, Rajesh, Sudha Belawadi, Lokanath, Mico Nagaraj, Tennis Krishna are also in the supporting cast.
