It may have been a grey and damp evening, but the celebrities - from the silver screen and the small screen - brightened things up with their jewel-toned outfits. As the rain darkened the red carpet, pink and purple gowns sashayed down it, protected by the hottest accessory of the day - oversized umbrellas.

The Best Actress winner nailed the evening's major trend with her deep purple Bottega Veneta chiffon gown with matching knot clutch, Lorraine Schwartz jewellery and Casadei pumps.
