Vijay’s AR Murgadoss directed Thuppakki has stormed Kerala. The film is the second biggest among other language film at the Kerala box-office, after Enthiran.
Thuppakki has grossed an amazing Rs 4.65 Cr in its opening week (Nov 13 to 19) at the Kerala box-office. The film opened in 124 screens on day one, which came down to 95 by the third day, as some theatres switched over to new release Dulquer Salman's Theevram on Friday (Nov 16).
Thuppakki has taken a historic distributors share of approximately Rs 2.16 Cr in its first week, which is huge by any standard. Rajinikanth’s Enthiran is the only other film which has taken more share (Rs 2.75 approx) from the Kerala market.
The film is a hit all over Kerala but is said to be doing best business in Vijay fortress of Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode. It is very strong in Malabar area of the state.
