UTV acquires Sundar C’s TVSK

Disney UTV studio has announced its new Tamil acquisition Theeyaa Vela Seiyyanum Kumaru (Kumar! You’ve Gotta Work Really Hard, Yaar!). TVSK is written and directed by comedy masala entertainer specialist Sundar C .

UTV-Sundar C had earlier dished out one of the biggest comedy hits of last year Kalakalappu. TVSK stars Siddharth, Santhanam, Hansika, Ganesh Venkatraman and many others. The shooting for the film is currently in progress and it is scheduled to release in June 2013.

Sundar C, who is known as a ‘Genius of Comedy’ in South Cinema is presenting Siddharth in an interesting lead role for the first time along with ‘Comedy Super Star’ Santhanam and one of the top actresses of South, Hansika.

The other members of the cast are Jennifer, Vidyu Mohanram, Devadarshini, Chitra Lakshmanan, Delhi Ganesh, Boskky, FM. Balaji, George, Vichu and others.

The cinematography is by Gopi Amarnath of film Pizza fame. The film has music by Engeyum Eppodhum fame Sathya with lyrics from Pa. Vijay and the music is expected to release in April 2013. The film is shot at Kumbakonam, Hyderabad and Chennai. Two songs are planned to be shot at Japan.

We are working towards an eclectic slate for this year and this project is yet another step in that direction.”
Settai will be UTV’s first in Tamil in 2013. The film will release for audiences in April, followed by Theeyaa Vela Seiyyanum Kumaru in June and then Gaurav and Vikram Prabhu starrer, Sigaram Thodu in December 2013.
