Udhayanidhi Stalin to remake <i>Aan Pavam</i>

Udhayanidhi Stalin after his debut film, the Rajesh directed Oru Kal Oru Kannadi turned out to be 2012`s biggest hit, wants to repeat the magic.

Udhay wants to team up with Santhanam and Rajesh again to produce another hit which will make him a saleable hero on his own.

Udhayanidhi has purchased the remake rights of 1985 rip-roaring Pandiraj directed comedy super hit Aan Paavam. It is an ideal subject for Udhayanidhi and will go with his "nice-guy next door common man" image.

The roles done by Pandiraj and Pandian in the original can be enacted by Udhay and Santhanam in the remake with Rajesh directing it.

The idea of remaking Aan Pavam sounds exciting. The original had great melodies by Ilayaraja and if Yuvan is signed for the remake, the project will be a sure fire hit.

Rajesh in an interview has already made it clear that he will not be part of this remake as he is busy at the moment with his next film with Karthi, All In All Azhagu Raja. So Udhay has started a hunt for a new director to start his Aan Pavam remake.

Sources in the tinsel town say that the producer-actor is looking for a suitable director to take up the project.

It may be mentioned here that Udhayanidhi Stalin’s first film as hero, Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, was a comedy subject and he wants to retain that image.
