Kerala University recently conferred honorary doctorates to ace filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan and veteran Malayalam actor Mammootty at the University campus in Thiruvananthapuram.
The venue had a look and feel of the release of a Mammooty film as thousands of fans were waiting to get a glimpse of their favourite star. Mrudangam expondent Umayalpuram K Sivaraman was also among the three people who received the doctorate.
Mammootty told Sify.com that he was delighted on being conferred with the honour. His wife Sulfath and Adoor's wife Sunanda were present at the function.
