Venicile Vyapari, an important film for Mammootty

Mammootty is a worried man! And no, not because of the tax raids, which turned out to be a flea bite!

What is worrying the actor, who has been lording over Malayalam cinema for nearly three decades, however, is the series of box-office duds in 2011.

Take a look: August 15, Doubles, Train and 1993 Bombay March 12 have all been colossal failures.

So it is a do-or-die battle for Mammootty as his next release, the Shafi-directed Venicile Vyapari, is going to be a very important film for him.

He has been able to rope in James Albert, one of the best script writers today, and Shafi the commercial king among directors.

Mammootty will be seen in three different roles: as a policeman in the 1970s, a coir merchant and a third role which will be revealed closer to release.

Kavya Madhavan, who made her debut as child artist in Mammootty's Azhagia Ravanan, is now playing his heroine in the film, along with Poonam Bajwa.

Venicile Vyapari is confirmed as Mammootty's next release and will most likely hit the screens on November 4 as the Bakrid special.
