This year, too, nearly half a dozen Tamil producers put out 'first look' ads in newspapers.
The most impressive, which had the industry talking, was the Vettai ad. It was attention grabbing and stirred curiosity among those who saw it.
The film is a Christmas release.
"The best designed was the Vettai ad. The one with Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul riding a two wheeler, and the other one with Madhavan and Arya in dhotis were eye-catching, as it was unique and created the right buzz about the film as a family entertainer," said an ad agency spokesperson.
UTV Motion Pictures and Thirrupathi Brothers, the producers of Vettai, had taken extra care over the design of the print ad.
Lingusamy-directed Vettai has Madhavan, Arya, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul in the lead, with music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
