In picture: Vidya Balan seduces the crowd at The Dirty Picture music launch
Much of the promotions for The Dirty Picture have had a sense of novelty to them. And the music launch did not disappoint either.
Producer Ekta Kapoor took the launch to the people by making the event at Inorbit Mall a free for all. "That's the novelty value," said Girish Johar of Balaji Motion Pictures. "We wanted to take the film to the public directly so that they can interact with the stars and enjoy the music."
And enjoy they did. Not only did Naseeruddin Shah do an impromptu dance number - his first at a live show - but Emraan Hashmi and Tusshar Kapoor took to the stage, too.
However, the star of the show was indubitably Vidya Balan. The actress, dressed in a garish pink costume embellished with strings of pearls and a plunging neckline, danced to Ooh la la - Bappi Lahiri's sexy comeback song.
And though it was the 33-year-old's first live stage performance, she had no inhibitions. She gyrated to the sexy number with total abandon.
Once the performances were over, Vidya made a quick costume change, into a red polka dot sari for the official music launch.
"People have accepted the music and I hope they also like the film," Vidya said after the event. With promotions like this, we feel the December 2 release will be a thunderous success.
