A jubilant Vijay fresh from the success of Nanban met the media on Friday (Jan 20) evening to thank and celebrate the tremendous response to the film. His spokesperson revealed that the first week collections have surpassed all previous film records of the actor.
The actor seemed in a very good mood as he answered questions with a smile and even had people laughing over some responses. He later mingled with everyone and spent time talking to them personally.
In answer to a question he said, "There is a wonderful message in the movie which I like. Follow what your heart says in choosing your field of work. My parents wanted me to be a doctor. But right from the time I was doing my 7th std I became interested in movies for that is where my interest lay. Imagine how I would have fared as a doctor if my heart wasn`t in it!"
Vijay also revealed that he would let his son Sanjay to make his own career choice in life.
The actor is leaving for Mumbai for the next schedule of Thuppakki soon.
