Correction. What is The Hunger Games is the right question. A trilogy that's an adrenaline-rush every step of the way. That's what this upcoming adaptation of the best selling novel by Suzanne Collins is.
It revolves around and is narrated by Katniss, a bold 16-year-old. The setting is post-apocalyptic Panem, the remnants of what was North America and now, a brutal country.
Each year youngsters from its 12 districts are set to face off in a deadly fight and are chosen by lottery. The contestants are groomed as prospective celebrities. This nationally telecast event is the same year after year - one young boy or girl lays dead in a pool of blood, while the victor becomes a star.
But all that changes with the appearance of Katniss from District 12. Her actions kick-start an engaging trilogy and is set to give us a fantastic, action-packed film franchise.
