This year, six films are ready for release - Dhanush's Aadukalam, Karthi's Siruthai, Vijay's Kaavalan, PA Vijay's Ilaingan, and two small films, Karuthakannan c/o Rekla Race and Sollitharava, featuring newcomers.

First take: The Polladhavan team is back with another realistic film set against the Madurai milieu. Dhanush is Karuppu, an uneducated guy with shades of grey. The film is about a sect of people whose story has not been told so far.
