A Chennai city civil court on Saturday (Oct 6), granted interim injunction against the release of the Arya- Pooja starrer Oram Po (earlier titled Auto), directed by debutants Pushkar and Gayathri.
Oram Po has been long completed but the producers were embroiled in a financial mess. The film was scheduled to release on October 12, after Adlabs has taken over the film. However a Chennai financier Mohankumar Jain has put the brakes on the film, as he contended that the producers A.Anand and V.Palanivelu of AP Film Garden had failed to repay the loan of Rs 15 lakhs which they had taken from him during the making of the film.
It is a major blow for Arya, as it means he is unlikely to have a release this year. Arya’s last release, Saran’s Vattaram a year back had bombed. The poor guy had signed Oram Po as a quickie, and then Bala’s Njan Kadavul which is still in the making!
