Surya’s Hari directed Aaru produced by Saran has been butchered by censors for excessive violence!
The censors were not happy with the “violent theme” of the film and wanted to refer it to the revising committee. But director Hari and producer Saran were willing for a ‘UA’ certificate and abide with some minor cuts but the board members disagreed and insisted on an ‘A’ certificate!
Since it will take weeks if the film goes to the revising committee, the makers of Aaru had no other option but to agree and finally accept an ‘A’ certificate which means those below 18 years will not be able to watch the film in theatres.
The ‘A’ certificate for Aaru is a major blow to Surya as he is very popular among children and teenagers who are eagerly waiting for the film. Remember that censor board and Chennai police recently cracked down on theatres for allowing those below 18 to watch ‘A’ movies and the theatre license was withdrawn.
Aaru will release on December 9 and the trade expects a great opening for this Surya-Trisha starrer.
