Abhay takes a shot at Bollywood's vulgarity

The actor has never made efforts to cover his true impression of some of the aspects of Bollywood. In fact, he's been pretty vocal about what he likes and what he dislikes.

And he continued in the same vein recently in an interview with TOI. This time he directs his ire at the customary item number.

“I find item numbers vulgar, even though they are the norm today. I am surprised that no one finds them demeaning towards women, seeing it as a way instead to celebrate our culture. Am glad we had Sunny Leone do a film. I hope more porn stars come in to our industry as it fits in very well. We are so overtly sexual yet we deny our sexuality. In such a situation, it’s better to get someone from the porn industry who is completely uninhibited. It just might help us be more uninhibited. Because we are not open, we put our girls into the skimpiest of costumes,” ranted Abhay.

And hidden in there is a compliment to Sunny Leone. But will this open the floodgates and let in porn stars into mainstream movies? Maybe. In fact, Poonam Pandey plans to make her acting debut in an adult film. We wonder if Abhay approves.
