New Delhi : Maverick film director Ram Gopal Varma and Bollywood film star Abhisekh Bachchan recently promoted the film Sarkar in the capital.

Sarkar, which means the chief, the master or the lord, is the story of a man (Amithabh Bachchan) with immense power and influence, and his family.

The movie brings the legendary Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek Bachchan together in the same film. After being real life father and son, the two are all set to play reel life father and son.

Apart from the official union of the father-son duo, the film also brings Big B, as Amitabh Bachchan is known, and Ram Gopal Varma together.

Although the movie doesn't have any similarity with Sarkar made in 1951 except for the name, Sarkar, is inspired by The Godfather, regarded as one of the landmark movies in Hollywood, which catapulted Marlon Brando, and Al Pacino to international fame and stardom.

Speaking about the movie, Abhishek said: "Sarkar is the story of a very powerful family living in the city of Mumbai, and how they have to deal with situations regarding their respective place in the society. It is the story of this family and how it has to contend with their problems on a day to day basis."

Varma who has directed Amitabh and Abhishek in the film said that he did not cast the father-son duo because they were father and son in real life
