Veteran director AC Tirulokchandar(86) passed away today(June 15) due to age related ailments. Tirulokchandar is known for his association with MGR and Sivaji Ganesan’s films including Anbe Vaa and Deiva Magan.
In fact Tirulokchandar’s Deiva Magan was India’s first submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Films. The veteran director has also made films in Telugu and Hindi film industries.
Throughout his film career, Tirulokchandar had huge fan following as he changed the taste of Tamil audiences in early 60’s. Interestingly the director’s Anbey Vaa is one of the rare films of MGR with minimum action scenes and punch dialogues.
