Mersal row

Adhirindhi, the Telugu dubbed version ’Thalapathy’ Vijay’s Mersal is getting good response from the general public and critics. Trade sources say that the film’s opening day collections surprised everyone and it's twice than the regular dubbed films of Vijay. Early estimates also say that Adhirindhi is also likely to open a strong market for Vijay in Tollywood.

But what surprised Telugu audiences is that the much-hyped GST and digital India dialogues have been muted by the censor board. No one had any clue on why the censor process of Adhirindhi got delayed but now, it’s clear that the makers were pressurized to mute the dialogues.

Earlier, the Mersal was opposed by BJP leaders in Tamil Nadu and it created a huge controversy across the country.
