Adoor Gopalakrishnan wins the J C Daniel award

Eminent filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan has been chosen as the winner of the prestigious J C Daniel award for the year 2016.

The award consists of Rs. 1 lakh as cash prize and a citation. The J C Daniel award is the highest honour for outstanding contribution to Malayalam cinema.

The committee consisting of chairman K G George, directors Kamal, T K Rajeev Kumar and Fazil selected Adoor for the honour.

Adoor made his first feature film Swayamvaram in 1972. He has directed 12 outstanding films that have been appreciated by Indians and also International audience.
