Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn will be bankrolling the remake of Karthik Subbaraj’s Jigarthanda in Hindi. To be directed by Nishikant Kamat, who made Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam, the yet-untitled Hindi film will have Sanjay Dutt and Farhan Akhtar in the lead roles.
Sanjay Dutt is likely to reprise Bobby Simha’s role while Farhan Akhtar will be seen as a struggling filmmaker, played by Siddharth in the original Tamil version. It’s worth mentioning here that for his deadly performance in Jigarthanda, Bobby Simha won a National Award and Naan Ee actor Sudeep produced the Kannada remake of the film with the same title.
The shoot of the Hindi remake of Jigarthanda will commence by the end of this year.
