Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiiyaan has created a big impact, after it’s much talked about audio launch. The music of AR Rahman has become an instant hit and the trailer has become most watched, though there has been criticism in social media about the making of the film.
Kochadaiyaan directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth, is India's first motion capture photo-realistic 3D animated film.
Director KS Ravikumar who assisted with the making of the film said: “The audiences should be aware that it is 3-D photo-realistic film, and don’t expect a typical Rajinikanth mass film. Of course, there's Rajini in it, but in an animated form that is larger than life. I’m sure that audiences will understand that it's a first-of-its-kind attempt.”
Meanwhile the producers Media One Global is getting the film ready for censor on March 19. Soundarya Rajinikanth has gone to China, to get the final copy of the film ready for censor.
Once the censor is through, the release strategy will be evolved. Since the film cost around Rs 125 Crore, it has to have a big wide release. The release day should be ideal for the film to reach across to the masses. The producers are targeting an April 11 release, though there are trade rumours that it may shift to May 1.
At the same time many other films are closely watching developments on the Kochadaiiyaan front. Vishal’s Naan Sigappu Manithan, Sivakarthikeyan Maan Karate and Vadivel’s Jagajala Pujabala Tenaliraman release date announcement will depend on Kochadaiiyan release.
All eyes in the industry are focussed on Kochadaiiyaan and hoping that it becomes a super hit and revive Kollywood industry.
