Amala has plenty of reasons to beam. She is always recognized as a good actress in south cinema and her urge to balance performance oriented roles with commercial cinema is what makes her different from her contemporaries.
She is upbeat about her wedding in June and as her family is busy making all arrangements, Amala started shoot of her third Malayalam film titled Mili in Trivandrum on May 9.
Mili is which she plays the title role after Mynaa, is directed by hot-shot director Rajesh Pillai who did Traffic earlier. When her director suggested that she gives 20 days of continuous dates in May if the film has to make it for major festivals, Amala dropped all her work and flew to Trivandrum where the first schedule is planned. She has a de-glam look throughout the film (see pic) and Nivin Pauly plays an important role.
Said Amala to sify.com: “It’s a dream role for me. Mili is an ordinary girl next door with lot of inferiority complexes. And how she fights against all odds is the crux of the film. The character of Mili is so dramatically different from the person that I am and that was the one thing that made me accept this film. I am so excited and have got completely into my character. I will wrap up the shoot by month end and then concentrate on my wedding.”
Amala is a big star after her films like Run Baby Run and Oru Indian Pranayakatha became huge hits and currently she is the Number 1 actress in Malayalam. Mili is sure to take her to the next level in M-town. Amala has set her priorities right on personal and professional front.
She adds with a smile: “ I am and will always be an actor. I’m grateful to God that I’ve a partner who understands that. We both are passionate about films.”
