The Malayalee girl from Kochi,  Amala Paul is going to play Vikram's wife in Vijay directed Deiva Magan.

Amala who had earlier changed her name to Anakha, for her debut Samy's controversial Sindhu Samaveli,  has now gone back to her original name Amala Paul with her second release Mynaa.

In Deiva Magan loosely based on Sean Penn's I’'Sam has Vikram playing a mentally challenged person.

Amala Paul will play Vikram's wife in the film, who after a couple of songs tuned by GV Prakash will die during child birth.

Earlier Meera Jasmine was supposed to do the film, but at the last minute dropped out. Vikram after seeing Amala's brilliant performance in Mynaa, has opted for her to do this pivotal role.

Remember Anushka is playing the all important role of a lawyer who fights Vikram's case to take custody of his daughter.
