A day after the arrest of MDMK chief Vaiko made by Tamilnadu 'Q' branch police for sedition charges, the cops cracked down on Kollywood directors Ameer and Seeman for their provocative pro-LTTE speeches in Rameswaram.
They have been booked under section 153A of the Indian Penal Code on sedition charges for making provocative speeches with regard to the Sri Lankan Tamils issue, directors Seeman.
There was tremendous pressure on the Tamilnadu government to arrest them, from opposition parties and even Congress party workers who burned effigies of the directors.
The directors have been taken by road to Ramanathapuram, where they will be produced before a magistrate court. It has sent shockwaves in Kollywood, and now it looks like the Nadigar Sangam rally in support of Sri Lankan Tamils may be cancelled.
