It’s official, Vijay Devarakonda of Arjun Reddy fame will be making his Tamil debut with director Anand Shankar’s next. To be produced by Studio Green’s Gnanavel Raja, the team is currently busy finalizing the cast and crew.
Talking about the film director Anand Shankar says “Gnanavel Raja and I’ve been meeting over dinner and lunch since Arima Nambi days. I was impressed with Vijay Devarakonda’s performance in Arjun Reddy and Pelli Choopulu. When I suggested Vijay’s name to Gnanavel, he was excited and later, everything fell into place”.
Anand Shankar said that a lot of people in the industry told him that it’s not easy to convince Vijay “But as soon as I narrated the script, he gladly came on board”, says the director to Sify.com.
When asked about the genre of the film, the Iru Mugan and Arima Nambi director says “I can’t reveal more details now but it will be the next level for me and Vijay, we haven’t attempted anything like this in our career before”. “It will be proper Tamil debut for Vijay but we are planning for a Telugu release too”, adds the director.
The shoot of the untitled film will kick start in the month of February.
