Politician Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss has always been vocal about his anti-smoking campaign, he previously opposed actors like Rajinikanth, Vijay and other mass heroes who glorified smoking in films. In 2007, Vijay said he would not smoke in films and accepted the request of Anbumani Ramadoss.
But Murugadoss brought the smoking trend back with the first look poster of Thuppakki but there was no such scene in the film."You’ll look more stylish without that cigarette.#SmokingKills #SmokingCausesCancer. Shame on Actor Vijay for promoting Smoking in this first look of his next movie #ActResponsibly #DoNotPromoteSmoking”, posted Anbumani Ramadoss on Twitter.
Anbumani Ramadoss also shared Vijay’s old interview in which he openly said that there would not any smoking scenes featuring him in his films. Following Mersal, it looks like Sarkar will also get a lot of opposition from political leaders in Tamil Nadu.
