Anirudh has become the hottest music director in town , after a hat trick of musical hits – 3, Ethir Neechal and Vanakkam Chennai.

The buzz is that he had signed half a dozen films but now he has given back advance for quite a few films he had signed including Balaji Mohan’s next film with Dulquer Salmaan!

Making an entry into the competitive world of Tamil music scenario has never been easy. But young Anirudh at the age of 19 hailing from a well-known family with the right connections made a huge impact with Aishwarya Dhanush’s debut film 3.

The song  Kolaveri... went viral and became a national craze.  This huge success changed the course of his life and he became a celebrity overnight.

Everyone wanted a slice of Anirudh. He was on a signing spree and producers waited outside his house to sign him up for their upcoming projects.  His next two albums Ethir Neechal and now Vanakkam Chennai went on to be chartbusters and there is no looking back for this unassuming youngster.

Anirudh maybe on cloud nine after the success of Vanakkam Chennai but now he has decided to become choosy. He politely backed out and returned back the advance and he had taken from six producers for their projects.

At the moment officially he is doing only three films – Sivakarthikeyan’s Maan Karate, Dhanush’s Velaiyilla Pattathari and Vijay’s untitled AR Murgadoss film. Plus he has completed the background score of Selvaraghavan’s Irandam Ulagam.

The buzz in music world is that he did not want to dilute the brand Anirudh, by signing too many films. So he has returned back the advance he has taken for half a dozen films he had signed on the spur of the moment. The idea clearly is to concentrate on creating good chartbusters rather than being prolific.

We don’t blame him, Good going, Anirudh!
