To get Oscar winner AR Rahman to release your debut audio film album is a dream come true for any music director. But it happened in the case of newcomer Haran at the audio launch of JK Creations Eesa at the Kamaraj Hall.
Rahman spent around 45 minutes at the function and patiently watched the trailer and a song from the film. Haran’s father Sridhar and Rahman go a long way back to the days when the duo was working in a light music group.
Rahman remembered his old friend and obliged him by coming for the audio launch of his son’s first film as music director. “A doctor’s son may be a doctor but it’s a big and rare gift for a musician’s son to be a musician,” said Rahman in appreciation of Haran’s efforts.
In reply to Sridhar’s queries, he stressed that he is still doing four Tamil films and still very much part of Kollywood. He added that since his family is in Chennai he would continue to live here even after receiving the Oscars.
The film stars Vigneshwaran who said that the unit faced immense problems but were saved when Jayakrishnan took over as producer and completed the film as a challenge. Thangar Bachchan came in late after the main guests had left but appreciated the efforts of the new producer. Jiiva and Karan were the other two actors who came to felicitate the unit.
The film has a remix version of the old Yaradi Nee Mohini song and features MS Bhasker in a quaint avatar with long moustaches shaped like plaits! New director Balaganesh directs. Karan was hopeful that his friend of 15 years Vigneswaran would taste success with this film.
Naresh Iyer, Chinna Ponnu and Harish Raghvendra along with MS Bhasker were spotted in the audience. Other guests included director Ezhil. Superstar Rajnikanth sent a letter wishing the team well, which was read out by Sridhar. Now let’s see how the film does after such a prestigious audio function.
