​AR Rahman's Punjabi number for London Olympics

The two musical legends from Tamil cinema the maestro Ilayaraja and Oscar winner AR Rahman will have a connect with the London Olympics 2012.

It was reported earlier that one of Ilayaraja’s track from Kamal Haasan 1980 starrer Ram Laxman, would be played at the opening ceremony.

The latest buzz on the the London Olympics opening ceremony is that AR Rahman too will be composing a special track for the event. The 3 hour opening ceremony programme is being directed by Rahman’s friend and Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle.

Rahman who is in LA told a Chennai newspaper: “ Yes I’m doing a track in Punjabi, which would be celebrating the Indian influence in UK. It is a part of a medley in the opening ceremony.”
