Arjun follows the old policy of “making hay while the sun shines”. He does not care about the story as long as he gets his money. In this process the ‘action king’ has been doing some inane films for the past few years.
Most of his films flop but he cares two hoots as he knows that out of five films that he does, one may do average business that keeps him afloat. His formula action films are packaged with heavy dose of violence laced with glamour and oomph. Such films are a big draw in B and C stations and sometimes make money for its distributors.
Now in the last two months following the success of Giri, another action masala, Arjun has suddenly increased his salary from a reasonable Rs 60 Lakhs to Rs One Crore! His argument is that Tamil producers can sell the Telugu dubbing rights of his films from Rs 80 Lakhs to One Crore plus the Tamilnadu and Kerala market makes the project viable for them. Recently he has signed two films (Chinna, Aanai) at this rate!
