Arya has signed a new film, after nearly 18 months!
He is playing the protagonist in director Vijay's ( Kireedam, Poi Solla Porom) new period film titled Matharasapatnam.
The film is being produced by Kalpathi.S .Agoram, the producer of super hit Santosh Subramaniyam. It is set in the old Madras of the 40's when the British ruled India.
Senthil Kumar the art director of the film is trying to recreate the Madras of the 40's with trams on Mount Road, the old Central station, Moore Market, Globe Theatre etc.
It is said to be a love story set against the British Raj, with Arya playing the role of a local boy who falls for the daughter of a wealthy British man.
Vijay has roped in the A-list of technicians for the film, like camera will be handled by Nirav Shah and music by G.V Prakash. He is also trying to get a Hollywood actress to play the role of the British woman who falls for Arya. The Lagaan villain has also been approached to play the villain in the film.
The shoot of Matharasapatnam is likely to start in December.
