Filmmaker turned director Sasikumar is back with rustic action thriller film ‘Asuravadham’. Talking about the film, Sasikumar said “It was cinematographer Prem of Sundarapandian fame recommended director Marudhupandian’s script. I was supposed to produce the film but due to various reasons, Lalith came on board. As Lalith didn’t even listen to the script, we cautiously completed the shoot in just 49 days”.
“My producer saw the film only a few days back and he was extremely happy. There is a talk that the film is filled with a lot of violence sequences but I would say that Asuravadham is a battle between good and bad. We have also dealt with an important social issue in the film. I play a construction worker in Gulf and how his life changes after he comes back to his own village forms the crux of the story”, added Sasikumar.
“When Marudhupandian narrated the script, told him that heroines would not easily accept Asuravadham as there is no song for them. But Nandita Swetha understood the importance of her character and gladly came on board, she has also done a commendable job. Famous writer Vasumithra plays the baddie in the film, I’m sure everyone will scold him after the film”, said Sasikumar who also added that he is unable to reveal the storyline of the film because of the twists and turns in the screenplay.
Asuravadham is all set to release this Friday, June 29.
