Is Mahesh Babu’s Athadu inspired from Richard Dainer directed Sylvester Stallone- Antonio Banderas starrer The Assasins?
The buzz in Tollywood is that Trivikram Srinivas, the writer who is making his debut as director has been heavily inspired from Hollywood films even in the past. But he has been successful to give Telugu nativity to his ‘inspired’ stories which has worked well with the audience.
Athadu is a story of a hit-man (Mahesh Babu) who kills for a Hyderabad based mafia. Remember that to follow Telugu nativity pattern, he is actually a good guy with some negative shades. One day on a mission in a village area he gets seriously injured and his life is saved by a village lass (Trisha) who slowly brings about a transformation in his life.
Mahesh’s character is loosely based on what Stallone and Banderas did in the original. However Athadu is being stylishly shot and the film is said to have terrific action scenes. It has become the hottest film in remake rights and trade circuits. The audio of the film will be launched on June 25 and is slated for release on July 14 or 21.
