August release schedule

Normally August is a low key month as the first half of the month coincides with second half of the inauspicious Aadi Masam. August 15 Independence Day used to be reserved for big star movie. 

However, this year there is no big release.

Still August is going to be a very busy month for Kollywood. 16 small and medium films are slated for release including the first super hero film Mugamoodi on August 31. Trade estimates that nearly Rs 80 to Rs 90 Crores are riding on these films.

Here is a tentative list of likely August releases, prepared by trade sources. At times, the films get postponed for various reasons. All releases are subject to censor certification.
