Golden Star Ganesh, once considered the man with the Midas touch, is desperate for a break. His next movie Auto Raja will be released across Karnataka this week and Ganesh is pinning hopes on it for a blockbuster. It has been several years since Ganesh delivered a hit movie. Consequently, the actor went all out to promote Auto Raja.
The Regional Censor Board has awarded U/A certificate for Auto Raja, which director Udaya Prakash claims is a tribute to all the super stars, such as the legendry Shankar Nag, Darshan, and Upendra, who played the role of auto rickshaw drivers in their career.
According to Prakash, Ganesh is seen in the role of a sentimental auto driver, who is also adept at comedy and action. The movie was shot for over 62 days in various parts of Karnataka, including Badami and Chikmagalur.
The producer Girish and Vishwas Cariappa set a trend by releasing the audio album of the movie in the presence of auto drivers. Incidentally, the producers organized a contest to select the title of the movie before commencing the shoot. The winner of the contest was even awarded a residential plot in Bangalore.
Malayalam actress Bhama and Deepika Kamaiah are the female leads of the movie. Arjun Janya has composed the music while Manjunath Nayak is the cinematographer. Bhama and Deepika too need a hit to stay in contention in Sandalwood. In all, Auto Raja is set to define the future of Ganesh in Kannada movies.
