The audio launch of the much awaited Bala film Paradesi was a grand and well conducted affair at the Sathyam cinemas on Sunday morning.
The well attended event saw stars Vikram and Surya come together on stage to receive the audio from Balu Mahendra, Bala’s mentor.
The music is by GV Prakash. One song, which is already a hit on the Net, Athava Paiya, was played though no song was shown on screen. Only the trailer was shown, which left all in awe and transported the audience back to 1939 where the story is set among a bonded tribe in the state, who work on tea estates.
The film is an adaptation of an English book Red Tea, which has been translated into Tamil.
The movie stars Atharva and Dhanshikaa and Vedhika, all of whom were present on the occasion. Also present were Bala’s Avan Ivan heroines Janani and Madhu Shalini who came to cheer the team.
Vairamuthu who has done the lyrics praised Bala’s style of working. Gangai Amaren who was also present revealed that he has sung in the film as well. Balu Mahendra got very emotional and revealed, ‘Bala is like my son. My wife who never attends film events has insisted on coming with me today just to wish him and see his success. We are very proud of him.”
Surya recalled his experience working with Bala and said, ‘Everything that I have learnt and know today is because of him. The film gives a huge effect of grandeur. Atharva is a lucky to work with him.”
Vikram added, “No one in India can extract good acting from an artiste like Bala can. I am happy Atharva joins the list of actors he has moulded, Arya, Vishal, Surya and myself.”
Chezhiyan has cranked the camera.
