Golden star Ganesh is really turning out to be pure gold for his producers. Two of his films 'Hudugaata' and 'Cheluvina Chittara' releasing with his 'Mungaru Male' doing tremendous in the box office has been able to give good results to producer Babu Reddy and director cum producer S.Narayan.
According to reports, director cum producer S.Narayan has recovered his losses from 'Thayiya Madilu' and has made Rs.3 crore profit from 'Cheluvina Chittara'. On the other hand 'Hudugaata' producer Babu Reddy had sold the film at a fancy prize and is sitting comfortable.
With three of Ganesh films occupying maximum number of theatres in Karnataka, 'Dhuniya' another top grosser is unaffected. Ramesh Aravind's 'Satyavan Savitri', V.Ravichandran's 'Ugadi', rib tickler 'Thamashegaagi' and Sudeep's 'No 73 Shanthi Nivasa' is not disappointing but surely the effect is there from Ganesh films.
Despite of Ganesh films, Shivarajkumar starring 'Santha' has managed to cross 50 days and Prem of 'Nenapirali, Jothe Jotheyali' film 'Pallakki' has seen the 50 days fortune. As of now 55 Kannada films have got released from January 1 to July 13 2007. But the success rate is well below average. Nearly 80 plus Kannada films are on floor is good news for the entire Kannada film industry.
Not less than 20 Kannada films are ready for release. Among them Upendra, Darshan starrer Anatharu, Darshan and Navya Nayar starrer Gaja, Dr.Vishnu, Suhasini and Sudeep’s Mathad Mathadu Mallige, Darshan and Aditya starrer Snehana Preethina, Milan' of Puneeth Rajkumar and Parvathi, Gandana Mane starring Shivarajkumar and Gowri Munjal are some of the top films getting ready for release in the coming months.
