Aptha Mithra continues to ring the cash registers in its 5th week. The share of the distributor Balu Muthaiah Rs.2 crore has already come from these five weeks from Bangalore Kolar and Tumkur centers. The earnings from now on and the earnings from other centers of Karnataka is the net profit for ace producer Dwarakish and Krishnakumar.

The last week releases Omkaara and Sahukara are also going great. Upendra’s Omkaara has collected all time record in one week all over Karnataka. Besides the theatre rent the film has collected Rs.1.75 crores from 200 shows a day in Karnataka with 55 prints. Omkaara and Sahukara had great opening in the Telugu and Tamil belts. According to one source there is 30 percent hike for Kannada films at the box office with this seven weeks moratorium for non Kannada films.

The fate of family tearjerker Thali Kattuva Shuvavele by director N.R.K.Vishwanath is dismal. This film has been removed from theatres after two or three days in some areas. Although there is good talk about the contents of the film the bad publicity is responsible for such response at the box office says Vishwanath.

On October 1, Hindi films like King of Bollywood, Kyun Ho Gaya Na and Sharat Telugu films Naa Autograph, Intlo Shrimati Veedilo Kumari and Tamil films Vasool Raja MBBS and Alagesan released. All of them have completed the 7 weeks run in its respective states.

With no release on October 1st the last week releases would further strengthen in their box office.
