Anurag Basu's Barfi! starring Ranbir Kapoor opened in cinemas on September 14th to overwhelmingly positive reviews by critics and viewers. There was considerable praise for Ranbir's 'Chaplinesque' performance and the visual comedy which had no need for dialogues.
It was quite apparent that there were many references to Charlie Chaplin and other silent era performers, but as a Youtube user called lokesh kachchhawa has shown in his compilation video, certain scenes in Barfi! might be a little too similar to scenes from other films.
Does Barfi! merely pay tribute to legendary comedians like Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton? Or is it a mish-mash of scenes copied from numerous films? If you have seen the film, watch this video and judge for yourself.
