Two major Kollywood production houses Thirrupathi Brothers and Escape Artists are clashing in a big way this Friday-July 18. Their films Sathuranga Vettai and Vellai Illa Pattadhari are releasing the same day. Both the production houses are marketing these films.
The trade is eagerly looking for a hit as the last few weeks releases have been disappointing at the box-office. The Tamil Nadu box-office is at an all-time low. Many shows during week days are getting cancelled due to lack of audiences.
So all eyes are on Dhanush's VIP, to revive the market. The trailer of the film has been huge hit on the net and has crossed 2 million views. The film looks massy and title song composed by Anirudh has become a chartbuster. Amala Paul looks gorgeous in the trailer and it is her first release after marriage.
On the other hand, Manobala produced Sathuranga Vettai got rave reviews from the preview audiences. It is said to be rollicking thriller and Lingusamy himself has said he picked up the film after seeing the potential in it.
Both the films have been certified U and are eligible for entertainment tax exemption. VIP running time is 2 hours 13 minutes, while Sathuranga Vettai is 2 hours and 25 minutes.
Escape Artists have booked nearly 350 screens in Tamil Nadu for VIP, while Thirrupathy Brothers have got around 250 screens for Sathuranga Vettai. It promised to be an exciting shoot out at TN box-office.
