We`ve seen the ladies lined up for the Oscar win. Now it`s time to get to know the men. This year`s five Best Actor in Leading Role nominees have one thing in common - Transformation - be it physical or allegoric, their portrayals through these phases has won them this prestigious spot.

We kick start the nominees list with Brad Pitt for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. The film based on F Scott Fitzgerald`s short story of the same name has Brad Pitt as the lead character who reverse ages.

Pitt works backwards in life and puts a whole new spin on the perception of death. Needless to say, this curious story has made it into the Top 10 lists of several critics.

The film has also bagged Oscar nominations for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Supporting Actress as well.

While Pitt`s brilliant make up of a man aging in reverse shocked his own dad, the hunk had to brace himself for a nasty piece of comment from a drunken lady.
