Generously inspired from the Bollywood laugh riot All the Best, the film has not even a single scene, dialogue or a character that can match with the original. Poorly written and executed, the film further suffers from ordinary visuals, average tunes and amateurish performances.
Soorya (Kailash) lives in a posh bungalow, thanks to his wealthy step-brother, Vinayaka Naicker (Prabhu). But he finds the going tough as Naicker gives only a limited pocket money to spend every month. Neethu (Archana kavi) is Soorya?s girlfriend and Diya (Rima Kallingal) is in love with Manu. Soon after, Soorya and his chum Manu (Asif Ali), an aspiring filmmaker, land in a deep financial mess and things go from bad to worse for them.
The confusions get more dramatic after a while with the entry of Naicker and then, when a boorish cook Thamara (Urvashi) comes to the house. From then on the story is about mistaken identities and certain gimmickry that make one cringe, instead of laughing!
Mammootty plays a cameo and the superstar has nothing much to do in the whole mayhem. The story is being presented in a rather different style with Mukesh as the narrator but it fails to impress either. The less said about the script and the dialogues, the better. In fact, quite a few scenes and even dialogues have been copied from All the Best but even those ones have not been done properly.
The performance from the young cast is rather far from impressive. They seem to ignore even the basics of acting and the way they render the dialogues is surprisingly na?ve. That too in a film, where the laughs are expected to be there in its dialogues!
Prabhu has done a fine job but Urvashi hams it up most of the time. But then why blame the actors, as their characters have been poorly created. Suraj Venjarammood continues to repeat his usual tricks yet again and needless to add, they fall flat.
Best of Luck has a funny premise for sure but the problem is that it hasn?t been narrated in an attractive manner. Nishad had shown promise with his earlier movie, Vairam, but he loses his ground this time around. ?Best of Luck?, next time.
Verdict: Below Average
