Century Star Shivaraj Kumar`s new film Bhajarangi was launched on Wednesday morning in Anjaneya Swamy Temple, Yediyur Cross Road in the presence of large number of fans.

Home Minister R.Ashok held the clap-board after a pooja in the temple. The film is being directed by dance choreographer turned film director Harsha and produced by Nataraj Gowda, an ardent Shivaraj Kumar fan.

The cast of the film was present during the muhurath including veteran actor Shivaramanna, Bullet Prakash and M.S.Umesh. Arjun Janya is the music director of the film while Jai Anand is the cinematographer.

Addressing a press meet after the muhurath, director Harsha said that he had written the story of the film along with his friends Nanda Kishor and Sridhar. He said Shivanna`s two characters in the film will be different from each other. Shivanna plays a young man and a 75 year-old-man who does not want to give up values he believes in.

The young Shivanna goes in search of his roots and finds out that there was a relative who looked a lot like him, 75 years ago who was a good Samaritan. But the man was hounded by anti-social elements. Harsha did not want to elaborate any further. He said Aindrita will be playing Shivanna`s love interest in the film.

Shivanna said that when Harsha narrated the story to him, he had thought of toning up his body for six packs for one of the characters. "Harsha did not tell me anything.  I was so impressed with the story that I immediately decided to show some variety in handling the roles. One thing I can definitely say is that I have not played a character like this before", said Shivaraj Kumar.

Aindirita who had earlier done a special role in Shivanna`s Kaddipudi said that she was delighted to be part of such a big film with a full-fledged role.
